About
My past and present roles range within education and media, I have been involved in Higher Education teaching and learning for over 13 years. I am a member of The Red Wheelbarrow Collective and the Academic and Non-Fiction Authors Association of South Africa.
Formal education
I’m currently enrolled in a Doctor Of Philosophy In Languages and Literature With English at North West University (2025). Before that, a MA Creative Writing at the University of the Western Cape (2025, cum laude) and a PGDip Higher Education at the Independent Institute of Education (2022). Earlier, a MA in English studies at the University of the Free State (2017) and BA Honours (cum laude) in English studies at the University of the Free State (2015).
Educator
My pedagogical views align with the Perennialist philosophy. I have taught a wide range of English-related subjects, including Creative Writing for English Alive. Educational institutions I’ve taught at include the University of the Free State, CTI Education Group, Pearson Institute of Higher Education/MGI, St Dominic’s College and Two Oceans Graduate Institute. I have been employed by the University of Cape Town.
Other similar roles include academic content writer, examiner at City & Guilds, social media analyst, content developer and freelance editor.
Awards
I received the Dean's Merit award (UWC, 2026), best shared poem at McGregor Festival (2024), and the Premium Homes Prize award for the best postgraduate student in English Studies (UFS, 2018).
